Our History

Raspberry Ridge Sheep Farm was started by Carolyn in 1995 and the Creamery is our latest endeavor to improve our stewardship of the livestock and beautiful land.

Until 2017, Rob worked as a software professional while Carolyn taught herding to her students here at the Farm.  Our flock of 100 ewes has served as part of the sheep dog training school.  We lamb each spring and take care of the babies and adults year round.

This all changed in 2017 year when Rob's engineering position ended. Rather than seek another office job, he decided to try something completely different.  After much soul searching, Rob decided to work full-time on the farm and open a sheep dairy and creamery.

It took about a year to start the dairy and creamery.  This involved working with  cheese makers to learn to make cheese and yogurt, with dairy farmers to learn about milking sheep, and with the state and local agencies to obtain the permits and license necessary to operate the business.  After an exciting year, we started producing cheese in our commercial cheese kitchen in June 2018.
